Within each gate, the six lines determine the coupling coefficient—how tightly or loosely that gate's "coil" interacts with others. Lines 2 and 5, the projection lines, create perpendicular field emanations. They extend outward at right angles to normal current flow.

When gates meet where one is in line 2 and the other in line 5, you get maximum perpendicular orientation—crossed coils creating complex field patterns. In electrical engineering, a transformer does something remarkable. It allows two circuits to influence each other without ever touching. No direct electrical connection exists between them. Instead, they couple through a magnetic field maintained by an iron core. This core doesn't conduct electricity between the circuits—it creates a field medium where alternating currents can dance together while remaining fundamentally separate.

Ra Uru Hu described the Magnetic Monopole in startlingly similar terms. It holds the Design Crystal and Personality Crystal—two forms of consciousness that, in his words, "can't stand each other"—in what he called "the illusion of our separateness." But perhaps the most revealing description is this: they are held at precisely 88 degrees of solar arc from each other.

Not 90 degrees. Not perpendicular. Not at right angles where they would crystallize into static opposition. 88 degrees—just slightly off perpendicular, maintaining what our previous exploration called "that slight wobble from perpendicular that keeps us from crystallising into static agreement or opposition."

This 2-degree deviation from perpendicularity? It's the difference between AC and DC consciousness.

The Violence That Starts the Oscillation

Every AC system needs an initial asymmetric event to begin oscillating. A perfectly balanced system would never start moving. Ra describes this initiation with unexpected violence: the Personality Crystal "bangs into" the Design Crystal at birth. This collision isn't gentle—it's the spark that starts the engine, the first discharge that establishes the alternating pattern that we experience as consciousness.

Consider what each crystal represents:

The Design Crystal embodies the magnetic principle—curved fields, looping patterns, the intelligence of form. It knows how to be but has no awareness of being. It sits in the Ajna Center (curiously, in the "mental" center), carrying the deep unconscious intelligence of the body, operating through patterns and cycles, curves and returns. It's the magnetic field in our transformer metaphor.

The Personality Crystal embodies the electric principle—straight lines, linear time, the arrow of awareness. It knows how to observe but cannot directly act. It floats in the conceptual space around the head, carrying consciousness that can witness but not drive. It's the electric current seeking ground.

Neither alone creates consciousness. The Design Crystal would be pure pattern without self-reflection—like the inanimate world Ra describes, which has design consciousness but no personality consciousness. The Personality Crystal would be awareness without form, observation without experience.

The Productive Incompatibility

Here's where the transformer physics becomes essential: these two crystals must remain incompatible. If they merged, consciousness would collapse. If they separated completely, consciousness would fragment. The monopole maintains them in productive tension—close enough to influence, far enough to maintain their essential difference.

In a transformer, if you connect the two circuits directly, you get a short circuit. The system fails catastrophically. If you remove the core that couples them, they become isolated circuits with no relationship. The transformer core maintains the field that allows them to influence each other while preserving their fundamental separation.

The monopole does exactly this. It creates what Ra calls "the illusion of our separateness"—but notice he says illusion. We aren't actually separate beings. We're two incompatible forms of consciousness held in relationship by a magnetic field, experiencing ourselves as unified while maintaining our fundamental duality.

The 88-Degree Offset: Why Perpendicularity Kills

If the crystals were held at exactly 90 degrees—perfect perpendicularity—they would lock into static opposition. Like DC current, they would establish fixed poles: this OR that, positive OR negative, Design OR Personality. Consciousness would become a switch: on or off.

But at 88 degrees, neither crystal can dominate. Neither can establish a fixed state. They must continue alternating, oscillating, breathing. This is why consciousness requires AC, not DC. DC consciousness would be fixed awareness—knowing without changing, being without becoming. It would be crystallized, dead. What made this dance unique was how it was changing. Where once the Seeker looked to the physical world for answers, increasingly they found themselves turning inward, recognising that the greatest resource was the mind itself. The territory being sought was no longer just physical space, but the vast landscape of consciousness.

The mind is not the enemy… when used wisely it can stimulate in the most treasured ways… if we unlearn making decisions with it - it can bring great us great pleasure, unleashing our awareness…

"The greatest resource is the mind. That's what this is all about. And it's something that we're beginning to see in our Western cultures, the value of mind. Individual minds are valuable now. The individual mind can sell itself now, whether it's the geek behind the computer or whatever it may be, we have a whole development where what your market value is is how smart you are. And so, in the end, our greatest resource that has to be developed is our thinking to the maximum of its potential. And it's only when we develop our knowing to the maximum of its potential that we have a valuable resource." - Raaaaaaa!

There is a fundamental shift that has taken place from physical/mammalian resources to mental ones and it is still moving in that direction:

• Where once value was measured by physical strength ("I don't have to work in a factory. I don't have to be dependent on the strength of my back")

• Now intellectual capacity has become one of the most important resources ("We are at a point in which intellectual capacity is one of the most important resources for us")

• This contrasts with historical emphasis on physical resources ("It used to be how many dead animals we could drag home")

We are undergoing a larger evolutionary transition away from dependence on mammalian/physical resources (through Gate 49) and it’s breaking with the 19th gate in 2027, toward more individualised mental resources. It is said that as the background frequencies turn toward programming for the Raves - us, In-Transistus will turn towards the Mental Projectors for guidance - in a way to replace that background programming that is no longer directed towards us.
As physical resources become more limited, it requires more mental resources to figure out solutions, creating a cycle that increasingly values mental capacity over physical resources.

We are moving into a time when our limitations can unwrap Spirit and lead to a deeper experience of freedom when we:

• Recognise limitations as portals to freedom

• Use limitation awareness as a tool for consciousness

• Understand that acceptance of limitation paradoxically leads to transcendence
